Egypt Unveils First Domestically Produced Industrial Robot

Egypt has officially launched its first locally developed industrial robot, marking a milestone in the nation’s efforts to integrate advanced technology into its manufacturing sector. The project, a collaboration between the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC), technology firm Raed Bots, and the company Qubee, aims to enhance domestic production capabilities.

Development and Launch

The robot was designed by Egyptian engineers to function within real-world industrial applications. Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem attended the launch ceremony, where he observed a demonstration of the machine’s technical features. The project currently features an 80% local component ratio, with developers aiming to reach 90% once motor production is localized.

Future Integration

The Ministry of Industry plans to monitor the robot’s performance at Qubee to ensure it meets industrial standards. Minister Hashem stated that the government intends to prioritize the localization of machinery production to improve factory efficiency and competitiveness. Additionally, the IMC signed a cooperation protocol with Raed Bots to provide ongoing technical support for industrial applications.

Status of Local Manufacturing

The initiative reflects a broader strategy to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies and reduce reliance on imported machinery. Officials emphasized that the project serves as a test case for building manufacturer confidence in locally produced robotics.
