New Book “Il Triangolo Rock” Explores Love and Friendship Among Harrison, Clapton and Boyd

In a modest Milan bookshop on Tuesday, Riccardo Russino signed copies of his latest work, *Il Triangolo Rock*, as readers queued to learn about the intertwined lives of George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Pattie Boyd.

The 320-page volume, published by Edizioni Musicali, traces the romantic and artistic connections that linked the former Beatle, the legendary guitarist and the model‑photographer who inspired several classic songs. Russino draws on interviews, letters and previously unpublished photographs to chart Harrison’s marriage to Boyd, Clapton’s infatuation with her, and the eventual friendships that emerged.

According to the author, the book aims to show how personal relationships shaped the music of the late 1960s and early 1970s. “The triangle was not just a love story; it was a catalyst for some of the era’s most enduring songs,” Russino said during the launch.

Critics have noted the balanced narrative, avoiding sensationalism while highlighting the emotional stakes behind tracks like “Something” and “Layla.” The publisher expects strong sales in Italy and plans translations for the UK and US markets later this year.

As the literary world awaits the book’s broader release, Russino hopes the story will prompt renewed interest in the cultural impact of these three figures and the music they helped create.
