Renault Megane E-Tech Electric Gains Extended Range and Enhanced Driving Dynamics

Renault announced that the latest Megane E-Tech Electric will offer up to 500 kilometres of range on a single charge, thanks to a new 67 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery.

What happened

The French automaker unveiled the updated Megane E-Tech Electric, highlighting a larger LFP battery pack and improved driving dynamics. The company says the model can travel up to 500 km (WLTP) after a full charge.

Why it matters

The extended range addresses consumer concerns about electric‑vehicle mileage and positions the Megane E-Tech against rivals such as the Volkswagen ID.4 and Tesla Model Y. A higher-capacity battery also supports faster charging sessions.

Background

Renault introduced the Megane E-Tech Electric in 2022 as its first mass‑market EV built on the CMF‑E platform. The original version used a 60 kWh battery and delivered around 430 km of WLTP range. The shift to a 67 kWh LFP pack reflects industry trends toward safer, more durable chemistry.

What comes next

Renault plans to begin deliveries of the upgraded model in early 2025, with production slated for its Douai plant in northern France. The company also indicated that software updates will further optimise efficiency and that additional trim levels may be introduced later in the year.
