Moldovan Rapper Bratan Expelled After Blocking Milan‑Meda Road for Video Stunt

Police in the Lombardy region halted traffic on the Milan‑Meda highway on Tuesday after a group of young men set up a makeshift stage and began filming a music video. The centerpiece of the shoot was Bratan, a 23‑year‑old trap artist from Moldova known for his provocative online presence.

As the crew filmed, they blocked two lanes of the dual carriageway for about 30 minutes, causing a backup that stretched for several kilometres. Local commuters were forced to take detours, and several drivers reported the incident on social media.

After the video shoot was stopped, authorities detained Bratan and his entourage. The rapper was subsequently expelled from Italy on the same day, a decision confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior.

Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi described Bratan’s actions as “socially dangerous” and said the expulsion was intended to deter similar public disturbances. “We cannot allow individuals to jeopardise public safety for the sake of media exposure,” Piantedosi told reporters.

Bratan’s legal representative argued that the expulsion was a disproportionate response, stating that the measure was taken solely to generate publicity. “The sanction serves no judicial purpose and is merely a reaction to media pressure,” the lawyer said.
