Egypt’s Economy Shows 5.1% Growth, Fitch Review Highlights Reforms

Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom sat down with a senior Fitch Ratings delegation to walk them through Egypt’s latest economic data. He pointed out that the country posted a 5.1% growth rate in FY2025/2026, up from about 4.4% the year before, driven by strong performance in non‑petroleum manufacturing, communications and IT. The minister also noted that the transport and logistics sector stayed robust, with Suez Canal revenues rising despite regional shipping challenges.
