Spain’s economic deputy minister Carlos Cuerpo gave a quick rundown of the EU Recovery Plan’s progress on Thursday. By the end of August, the state had earmarked €79.854 billion for projects and, according to the General State Audit Office, had already disbursed €96 billion to beneficiaries.
Calls for funding totalling €72.030 billion have been resolved, covering more than 90% of the programme’s budget. The only loose end is the last instalment, requested on the final day of September, which still needs approval from Brussels before the funds can be released.
