Spanish Home Purchases Drop 7% in Q2, Signaling Market Slowdown

Home buying activity in Spain slipped by just over 7% in the second quarter compared with a year earlier.

  • 182,637 transactions were recorded from April to June, roughly 14,000 fewer than in 2025.
  • The decline was felt nationwide but was especially sharp in the Basque Country, the Balearic Islands and Valencia.
  • Despite the drop, sales rose 6.9% from the first quarter, a typical seasonal bounce.

The figures confirm that the boom of last year has faded, leaving the market in a slower‑growth phase.
