WEC Signs 10-Year Deal with FIA and ACO, Sets Unified Hypercar Rules for 2030

The World Endurance Championship (WEC) announced a landmark 10-year partnership with the FIA and the ACO, aiming to boost the series’ commercial appeal.

  1. In early 2024 the three bodies formalised the agreement, pledging joint promotion and shared revenue streams.
  2. The pact includes a coordinated push to attract new sponsors, broadcasters and fans worldwide.
  3. From 2030, WEC will adopt a single set of technical regulations for hypercars, aligned with IMSA’s rules, simplifying development for manufacturers.
  4. This unified framework is expected to lower costs and encourage more entries in the top‑tier endurance class.

Overall, the long‑term deal aims to grow the sport and create a clearer path for hypercar competition.
