Egypt’s tech scene is booming, with the ICT sector recently hitting an impressive 19.2% growth rate. To keep this momentum going, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is doubling down on artificial intelligence. At the Techne Summit in Alexandria, CEO Ahmed Elzaher explained that while AI is becoming accessible to everyone, the real key for local startups is using that technology to solve actual, everyday problems.
The agency is now focusing on four big priorities: building local skills, providing better resources, pushing for practical applications, and helping businesses scale up. By connecting startups with incubation hubs and global partners, Egypt aims to turn clever ideas into lasting, valuable products that can thrive both at home and abroad.
