Housing advocates are taking a major step in their fight for better conditions. The Sindicato de Inquilinas has officially teamed up with the CGT union to move forward with a general strike. This alliance marks a significant escalation in their ongoing campaign to address the housing crisis.
While the CGT has already committed to the action, the pressure is now mounting on Spain’s two largest unions, CC OO and UGT. Inside these organizations, more voices are calling for support, though an official decision hasn’t been made yet. Alicia Del Río, a spokesperson for the tenants’ group, remains optimistic, stating they are in active talks to bring everyone on board to ensure the protest has the widest possible impact.
