Toyota is making big strides in sustainability, and its Deeside facility in the UK just hit a major goal. The site has officially become the automaker’s first factory outside of Japan to achieve zero carbon emissions. This is a huge step forward for the company as it works to modernize its manufacturing footprint.
This achievement is part of a much larger plan for the carmaker. Toyota has set an ambitious target to make all of its European manufacturing plants carbon neutral by 2030. By proving that a major industrial site can operate without leaving a carbon footprint, Deeside is setting the blueprint for the rest of the company’s facilities across the continent.
