Luka Modrić and the Croatian national team are still reeling from a devastating 7-0 loss to England this past Saturday. For the players, the sting wasn’t just about the final score, but the manner in which they crumbled on the pitch. Modrić admitted that the defeat hurts the team more than anyone else, leaving a nation stunned and searching for answers.
Coach Slaven Bilić didn’t shy away from the gravity of the situation ahead of their upcoming match against Spain. He called it the worst loss in Croatian football history, a painful memory that will linger for a lifetime. Bilić urged his squad to use this embarrassment as a permanent lesson, reminding them that whenever they assume a match will be easy, they must recall this dark day to stay grounded.
