Egypt and South Africa are stepping up talks to link their factories and boost joint investment.
- During a meeting of industry ministers Khaled Hashem and Mabo Parks Tau, both sides agreed to build on the African Automotive Investment Forum held in El Alamein.
- They identified automotive manufacturing and components, pharmaceuticals, metals, agro‑processing and logistics as priority sectors, with a focus on bringing car makers and tyre or EV‑battery producers to Egypt.
- Both countries will explore joint testing, certification and projects in iron, steel and manganese alloys to add value to their mineral resources.
- A new Egyptian‑South African Business Council was launched to shepherd future deals, including a joint platform between ElAraby Group and Malben Engineering.
