Niccolò Machiavelli is often remembered as a villain, but a new biography by Franco Bernini is changing that narrative. Ahead of the 500th anniversary of his death in 2027, Bernini has crafted an A-to-Z guide designed to peel back the layers of history surrounding this famous political philosopher. Instead of focusing on the myths, the book explores the genuine brilliance of a man who was frequently judged harshly by his peers.
By breaking down his complex ideas into simple terms, Bernini shows us the real Machiavelli—a thinker who was often a victim of deep-seated prejudices rather than the schemer we imagine. It is a fresh, approachable way to finally understand the man behind the infamous reputation before his major milestone anniversary arrives.
