China and the EU Find Common Ground on Trade

Trade disputes can be long and messy, but a recent agreement between the European Union and China shows that even rivals can find common ground. Both sides realized that working together is better than fighting, especially when it comes to the electric vehicle market.

  1. China is shifting its strategy to focus more on its own citizens buying goods rather than relying solely on exports.
  2. The country is also trying to cool down a fierce price war between its local car manufacturers.
  3. In exchange for a deal on hybrid vehicles, China has shown a willingness to lower tariffs on European imports.
  4. Beijing is also making it easier to export rare earth minerals, which are essential for European industries.

It seems both powers have decided that cooperation beats conflict in the long run.
