Ancient Elea and Parmenides Turned Into Video Game with PNRR Funding

The historic city of Elea and the philosophy of Parmenides are being transformed into a video game under a project financed by Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The initiative aims to blend digital storytelling with classical thought, offering players an interactive exploration of pre‑Socratic ideas.

Developers say the game will recreate Elea’s ancient streets and embed Parmenides’ arguments about being and change into gameplay mechanics. Funding from the PNRR, allocated to cultural and technological innovation, supports the project’s research, design, and distribution phases.

Organisers expect the title to serve both educational and entertainment purposes, targeting schools and gamers interested in philosophy. The project reflects a broader trend of using interactive media to revive historical content for modern audiences.
