Egypt and Indonesia Set $5 Billion Trade Goal for 2030

Egypt and Indonesia have committed to increasing their bilateral trade volume to $5 billion by 2030, according to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The target was announced following discussions between Al-Sisi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during a state visit to Jakarta on October 10-11. The leaders agreed to prioritize removing trade barriers and expanding joint manufacturing projects, with a focus on positioning Egypt as a production hub for regional and international markets.

The two nations signed four memorandums of understanding, including agreements on maritime cooperation and visa exemptions for diplomatic passport holders. The joint statement also highlighted collaboration between Indonesian and Egyptian authorities regarding palm oil production and phosphate fertilizers. Both leaders emphasized their commitment to regional stability, specifically addressing the Nile water dispute and the Palestinian conflict. #Egypt #Indonesia #Trade #Diplomacy
