Eugenio Chacarra secured a second-place finish at the Spanish Open despite competing with a broken toe. The Madrid native finished at 13-under par, one stroke behind winner Grant Forrest of Scotland. Forrest secured spots in the Masters and the British Open with his victory at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, where Chacarra tied with France’s Victor Perez.
This performance moves Chacarra to second place in the Race to Dubai standings with 3,257 points, trailing leader Patrick Reed. With four tournaments remaining, including events in India, Korea, and the season finales in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Chacarra intends to compete in all of them. He aims to become the third Spaniard to claim the title, joining Seve Ballesteros and Jon Rahm. Following this result, Chacarra has also entered the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time. #Golf #RaceToDubai #EugenioChacarra
