Egypt Reports Lowest Investment Risk Levels Since 2014

Egypt’s Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk announced that foreign investor risk assessments for the country have reached their lowest point since 2014. Kouchouk attributed this shift to the government’s ongoing structural and economic reforms, which have garnered positive feedback from international markets.

Speaking at IMF and World Bank sessions in Bangkok, Kouchouk stated that balanced fiscal policies have successfully attracted domestic and international capital. The minister noted that the private sector now accounts for 65% of national investments, contributing to a 5.1% economic growth rate. Official figures indicate a primary surplus of 4.9% of GDP, with the budget deficit declining to 5.8% last fiscal year. The government plans to reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio to 70% within three years through tax and customs relief programs.
