The Spanish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee has ordered a partial closure of the Rayo Vallecano stadium following fan protests during a match against Athletic Bilbao last Saturday. The club received a one-match partial closure of the stands located above the dressing rooms and a 6,000 euro fine.
The penalty stems from fans throwing paper airplanes onto the pitch to protest against club president Raul Martin Presa. The incident disrupted the match, leading to a temporary suspension of play. According to the committee’s statement, Rayo Vallecano is responsible for a serious infraction involving the alteration of public order during the event, as outlined in the federation’s disciplinary code.
