Egypt has secured an EGP 11 trillion agreement with the Talaat Moustafa Group to develop four major multi-use projects. The deal, announced Tuesday at the Egypt Forum 2026, includes developments in Alexandria, Abu Qir, the North Coast, and an expansion north of Madinaty. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi confirmed the partnership during an urban development session attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
As part of the initiative, President Al-Sisi directed the government to collaborate with the developer to construct 200,000 rental housing units. The government and the Tahya Misr Fund will jointly finance an additional 200,000 units. Al-Sisi stated the goal is to shift housing policy toward rental options to address historical shortages and unplanned urban growth. Officials reported that since 2014, Egypt has delivered nearly two million housing units and established 61 new cities.
