Earnings and Operational Performance
The transition to profitability follows Ather’s earlier milestone of becoming EBITDA positive in the first quarter of the fiscal year, when it reported an EBITDA of ₹9 crore despite remaining at a net loss. During the second quarter, total expenses increased by 39.4% to reach ₹1,526 crore. The company noted that this expenditure growth remained slower than the rate of increase in operating revenue.
Total income for the quarter, which includes other income of ₹62.7 crore, stood at ₹1,527 crore. This compares to a total income of ₹940.7 crore during the same period in the previous fiscal year. The firm’s operating revenue fell short of total expenses by ₹61.5 crore, underscoring the reliance on other income to reach the net profit status.
