A patient walks into a clinic for a two-hour appointment. Within that time, they undergo a full-body MRI, a low-dose CT scan, a DEXA scan, an ECG, and an echocardiogram. This is the core service of Cent, a healthtech startup that recently raised $15 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-led preventive healthcare operations.
Expanding Capabilities and Acquisitions
The funding round was led by Blume Ventures and existing investor South Park Commons. Additional participants included individual investors such as former Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin and former OpenAI B2B CTO Srinivas Narayanan. The company plans to use the capital to strengthen research and development while expanding its engineering, clinical, and artificial intelligence teams.
Alongside the funding announcement, Cent confirmed its acquisition of Medsee, an AI-powered radiology reporting platform. The startup intends to utilize this technology to increase the speed and consistency of radiology reporting as scan volumes grow. Cent was launched earlier this year by Practo co-founder Shashank ND, former Ola Electric CMO Anshul Khandelwal, and former Lenskart product head Arpit Garg.
AI-Driven Diagnostics
Cent focuses on screening asymptomatic patients for more than 300 conditions, including cancer, cardiac disease, and neurological disorders. Its diagnostic process, known as the CCNM protocol, consolidates data from various imaging sources to create organ-level risk assessments. The company reports it has completed 10,000 preventive whole-body scans in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi NCR.
The startup charges ₹27,500 for its comprehensive screening package. Management stated that the data collected from these scans will be used to establish health baselines for asymptomatic populations, train diagnostic models, and support future clinical research. The company has set a goal to perform 10 million scans by 2035.
