Expanding Livelihood Opportunities
For many young people, the path to a steady career begins before they ever enter a classroom. Understanding personal strengths and building the confidence to pursue specific career paths are essential components of long-term success. Lighthouse Communities Foundation (LCF), a non-profit organization focused on improving livelihoods for underserved youth, has now taken a significant step toward expanding these programs by listing on the Bombay Stock Exchange’s (BSE) Social Stock Exchange.
The listing follows a public issue of Zero Coupon Zero Principal (ZCZP) instruments, which took place from September 30 to October 14, 2026. On October 29, the foundation held a bell-ringing ceremony at the BSE to mark the milestone, attended by government officials, corporate partners, and organizational leadership.
ZCZP instruments function differently from traditional investments. They do not pay interest or return principal. Instead, contributors fund specific social outcomes. The platform requires organizations to provide transparency regarding fund allocation and progress toward stated goals.
A Collaborative Model for Growth
The LCF program helps participants identify their aspirations and aptitudes before enrolling in vocational training. The organization collaborates with partners to offer courses linked directly to current employment opportunities. Since its founding in 2015, LCF has reached over 290,000 young people across six states. The foundation currently operates 51 centers, where women make up nearly 60% of total enrollment. According to LCF, 77% of youth placed in jobs remain employed one year later.
Manisha Verma, Additional Chief Secretary for the Government of Maharashtra, attended the ceremony as the chief guest. She stated that models combining career guidance, skill development, and employer linkages are essential for youth to secure stable employment.
