Delhivery Swings to Profit in Second Quarter of FY27

Logistics provider Delhivery reported a net profit of Rs 40.63 crore for the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, marking a recovery from a loss of Rs 50.49 crore during the same period last year. The company attributed this financial turnaround to volume growth and the expansion of new business segments.

Q2 Fiscal Year 2027 Performance

Revenue for the quarter increased 19.8% to Rs 3,066.38 crore, up from Rs 2,559.3 crore in the prior-year period. Express parcel volumes rose 32% year-over-year, reaching 325 million shipments. The part truck load segment also saw growth, increasing 14% compared to the previous year. The company stated that these results were achieved despite inflationary pressures.

Operational Expansion and Technology

Delhivery Local, the company’s intracity courier service, is now operating in eight cities. Management said the service is on track to exceed an annual revenue run rate of Rs 250 crore by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2027. Additionally, the firm has begun monetizing its vendor ecosystem through new financial service partnerships. Internal automation initiatives are also expanding, with the company’s robotics lab beginning production of autonomous vehicles for facility operations.

Outlook for the Second Half

Looking ahead, Delhivery management expressed confidence in continued performance despite a volatile macroeconomic environment. Challenges cited by the company include fluctuating fuel prices, labor availability, and statutory changes. The firm reported that network service levels have improved heading into the festive season.

Why it matters: This turnaround highlights how logistics firms are leveraging artificial intelligence and automation to improve margins despite global economic volatility. For markets like the Middle East and Egypt, where logistics and supply chain efficiency are critical to economic growth, Delhivery’s model of using in-house robotics and diversified financial services offers a potential blueprint for scaling operations in emerging economies.
