Desible.ai Targets Workflow Automation to Boost Voice AI in Indian Banking and Insurance

Desible.ai, a startup co-founded by Uttam Tiwari and Omkar Raikar, is developing an agentic workflow orchestration platform aimed at regulated enterprises, with an initial focus on the insurance sector in India.

The founders explained on the Prime Venture Partners podcast that while voice AI pricing has fallen from about Rs 7 to under Rs 2 per minute, the real value lies in automating the back‑office processes that drive large organisations. They argue that creating a human‑like voice agent is no longer the hardest problem; integrating that agent into banks or insurers, meeting regulatory standards and linking to legacy systems presents a greater challenge.

Desible.ai emerged after Tiwari and Raikar’s previous venture, Business Toys, was acquired in 2023. Their team then consulted for U.S. firms such as Newsweek, Bank of America and Nestlé. A logistics brokerage project that used AI‑driven calls to truck drivers reduced a client’s contact centre staff from roughly 20‑25 people to three, highlighting the efficiency gains possible with voice AI.

From Conversation to Workflow Automation

During proof‑of‑concept trials with 12‑13 Indian enterprises, the founders observed that automating conversations alone did not provide a sustainable competitive edge. “Voice is a commodity, but workflows are not,” Tiwari said, noting that deep‑seated processes offer a stronger moat.

Insurance was chosen as the first vertical because customer interactions are tightly linked to renewals, claims, sales and servicing workflows. By embedding voice agents within these processes, Desible.ai aims to deliver measurable business outcomes and reduce reliance on large contact centre teams.

Challenges in Scaling AI Deployments

The podcast also covered why many AI pilots fail to reach production. According to the founders, demonstrations often showcase capabilities, but real‑world deployments must navigate compliance, integration and performance reliability.

Desible.ai is positioning its platform to address these hurdles, seeking enterprise contracts that move beyond pilot stages to full‑scale operations.
