Bosch Expands Cybersecurity and Connectivity for Motorcycles at EICMA 2026

Bosch has announced an expansion of its cybersecurity and connectivity technology portfolio specifically tailored for the two-wheeler market. The company introduced its new Central Gateway system, designed to secure critical rider assistance functions against digital threats.

EICMA 2026

The announcement took place during the EICMA 2026 trade show, where the automotive supplier showcased advancements in motorcycle electronics. The new Central Gateway acts as a secure communication hub within the motorcycle’s electronic architecture. It manages data exchange between various vehicle control units while implementing protective measures against unauthorized access.

Technological Implementation

Bosch stated that the Central Gateway is engineered to protect safety-critical systems, including advanced rider assistance systems (ARAS). By isolating these systems from external connectivity interfaces, the technology aims to prevent cyberattacks from compromising vehicle control. The unit integrates with existing motorcycle connectivity platforms to support over-the-air updates and remote diagnostics while maintaining data integrity.

Current Status

Bosch is positioning this technology as a standard component for future motorcycle models requiring increased digital integration. The company indicated that the Central Gateway is ready for deployment in upcoming production cycles, addressing the growing demand for secure, connected riding experiences.

Why it matters: As motorcycles become increasingly digitized and connected to external networks, they face similar cybersecurity risks as passenger vehicles. This technology provides a necessary layer of protection for safety-critical functions, ensuring that the integration of rider assistance systems does not create vulnerabilities that could impact vehicle operations or rider safety.
