Egypt Partners with Right to Dream to Launch National Football Talent Program

Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports has signed a cooperation protocol with the Right to Dream academy to establish five regional development centers and create a national system for identifying football talent. The agreement, signed in the New Administrative Capital, follows directives from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to institutionalize sports development across the country.

Key Project Takeaways

  • Regional infrastructure: The initiative includes building five integrated centers featuring pitches, gyms, medical facilities, and classrooms.
  • National scouting: A standardized scouting network will operate across schools, public squares, and local competitions to identify players.
  • Educational integration: The program coordinates with the Ministry of Education to provide accredited schooling alongside full-day athletic training.
  • Technical management: Right to Dream will oversee talent discovery, training, evaluation, and professional career management.
  • Logistical support: The Ministry of Youth and Sports will manage facility operations, logistics, and educational curricula.

Developing Sports Talent

The project aims to create a pipeline for young athletes, beginning in early childhood and extending to professional opportunities both domestically and internationally. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk attended the signing ceremony. Right to Dream Chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour stated the partnership will prepare athletes according to global standards.

Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil noted that the program utilizes independent scouts working with an international institution. The ministry intends to broaden the talent pool across all governorates, moving beyond traditional recruitment methods. The phased rollout of the centers is intended to integrate sports preparation with academic requirements, focusing on human capital development.
