GIVA Secures $100 Million Funding as Indian Data Center Market Expands

Bengaluru-based jewelry retailer GIVA has secured $100 million in a funding round led by Multiples Alternate Asset Management. The company intends to utilize the capital to bolster its leadership team, increase manufacturing capabilities and expand its physical retail presence, according to company statements.

GIVA currently operates more than 400 stores across India and Sri Lanka, offering a product line that includes silver, gold, and lab-grown diamond jewelry.

India’s Data Center Infrastructure Growth

The Indian data center industry is projected to undergo a five-fold expansion over the next several years. Crisil Ratings estimates that installed capacity will reach 7.5 gigawatts by March 2030. This growth is expected to draw investments exceeding Rs 3 lakh crore over the next four financial years.

Analysts attribute the surge in demand to the rise of generative artificial intelligence, increased cloud adoption, and enterprise digitalization efforts. However, industry experts note that maintaining this growth trajectory will depend on overcoming challenges related to power connectivity, regulatory approvals, and project execution.

Corporate Performance and Market Shifts

Other sectors in India are showing mixed financial results. Drone manufacturer ideaForge reported a return to profitability in the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year. The company posted revenue of Rs 91.3 crore, a 124% increase year-on-year, and a profit after tax of Rs 6.5 crore. This contrasts with a loss of Rs 19.6 crore reported during the same period last year.

In the technology sector, Apple recorded its highest-ever revenue for a September quarter in India. The company saw strong demand for iPhone upgrades and MacBook sales, alongside the introduction of Apple Pay in the region. Globally, Apple reported quarterly revenue of $114.48 billion, an 11.72% increase year-on-year.
