Festival Details
The Racconti festival serves as a new cultural initiative under the umbrella of the Festival dei Due Mondi. Organizers designed the program to explore connections between different artistic disciplines, specifically literature, music, and theater. Patti Smith, known for her contributions to rock music and poetry, will open the festival, marking the start of the five-day event.
The schedule spans from December 4 to December 8. While the Festival dei Due Mondi is traditionally known for its summer programming, this new initiative extends the organization’s cultural activities into the winter season. The festival aims to provide a platform for narrative-driven performances and literary discussions within the historic setting of Spoleto.
Why it matters: This event represents an expansion of the Festival dei Due Mondi, one of Italy’s most prominent cultural institutions. By incorporating winter programming, the festival creates additional opportunities for international artists to engage with Italian audiences outside of the traditional summer peak season.
