The Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) and the Ministry of State for Military Production have met to discuss integrating manufacturing capabilities and localizing technology. The meeting, which included leadership from both defense entities, focused on aligning production strategies to support national development goals.
The Meeting
AOI Chairperson Mohamed Abou Bakr hosted Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gamblat to review ongoing cooperation between the two organizations. The discussion centered on maximizing production capacities across both defense and civilian industrial sectors. Attendees included the Director General of the AOI, factory heads, and military production executives.
Proposed Cooperation
Abou Bakr proposed the creation of a joint committee to establish mechanisms for industrial integration. He suggested implementing a shared marketing strategy and centralized procurement of raw materials. According to the AOI, these steps are intended to reduce import dependency and increase the value of domestic goods. The organization claims it has already begun manufacturing components previously sourced from abroad.
Strategic Alignment
The discussions aim to support Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development and the national “Made in Egypt” initiative. Officials stated that the two entities serve as the primary pillars of the country’s military industry. Minister Gamblat noted that previous collaboration in defense manufacturing has been productive, and the current talks seek to expand this partnership into civilian sectors.
Current Status
The AOI and the Ministry of State for Military Production are currently coordinating to align their manufacturing objectives. Both parties intend to utilize modern production lines to meet local market needs while adhering to international quality standards.
