Italian police in Rimini have charged two individuals for allegedly running a fraudulent car‑selling scheme and have located the stolen vehicles overseas.
Investigation launched
Local authorities opened the probe after receiving complaints that buyers received vehicles that were either nonexistent or not as described.
Suspects identified
Investigators traced the operation to two men believed to be coordinating the sales from abroad. Both were formally denounced by the Rimini mobile unit.
Vehicles tracked
Through cooperation with foreign law‑enforcement agencies, police confirmed that several of the cars involved in the scheme had been moved out of Italy.
Recovery abroad
The foreign partners assisted in locating and securing the automobiles, which are now slated for return to their rightful owners pending further legal action.
Case remains under prosecution
The two accused face charges of fraud and illegal trafficking of motor vehicles. Prosecutors will seek additional penalties as the investigation continues and the recovered cars are processed.
