Japanese retailer Takarajimasha has announced the upcoming release of two consumer products inspired by Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda franchise. The items, modeled after in-game artifacts, will be available as standalone merchandise bundles in November.
November 5
The release coincides with the scheduled launch of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Switch 2 console. Takarajimasha, a company specializing in lifestyle goods and publishing, intends to capitalize on the period by offering two distinct products based on items from the fantasy series.
The Heart Container Lamp
The first product is a replica of the Heart Container, an item used in the games to increase a player’s health. The lamp measures 9 centimeters (3.5 inches) in height and features gold-colored framing inspired by designs found in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. It functions as a light source, emitting a red glow, and can be detached from its base. The item is priced at 3,839 yen (approximately $24).
The Rupee Pouch
The second item is a silicone pouch shaped like a green Rupee, the currency used within the game series. The product is designed to hold small items such as cosmetics, earbuds, or snacks. It includes a strap for use as a bag charm and features the franchise’s name written in Japanese on the underside.
Product Availability
Both items are being sold as part of a bundle, which includes an eight-page booklet. This format follows a common Japanese industry practice where companies sell lifestyle products accompanied by supplementary publications. The merchandise will be available for purchase in early November.
Why it matters: As Nintendo’s intellectual property continues to expand into global consumer markets, merchandise collaborations provide tangible connections for fans. This release illustrates the growing trend of media companies diversifying revenue streams by transitioning digital gaming assets into physical, everyday lifestyle products.
