MobiKwik Reports Record Profit as Pixxel Addresses Ownership Concerns

Fintech company MobiKwik reported its highest-ever quarterly profit in the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, driven by growth in its financial services division and controlled expenditures. The company transitioned from a net loss in the previous year to a positive net profit, marking a shift in its financial performance.

Key Financial Highlights

  • Record profitability: MobiKwik achieved a net profit of ₹11.8 crore, a significant improvement from the ₹28.6 crore loss recorded in Q2 FY26.
  • Revenue growth: Operating revenue increased by 9.4% year-over-year, reaching ₹295.7 crore.
  • Expense management: Total expenses decreased by 1.8% compared to the same period last year, settling at ₹290.9 crore.
  • EBITDA turnaround: The company reported an EBITDA profit of ₹22.7 crore, contrasting with an EBITDA loss of ₹6.4 crore in the year-ago quarter.
  • Operational efficiency: Both core business segments expanded contribution margins, helping to offset rising fixed expenses.

Lending Growth and Payment Trends

MobiKwik’s financial services business served as a primary driver for the quarter. The company increased loan disbursements and expanded its network of lending partners. Improved loan book quality also contributed to lower expenses and higher gross profit within this vertical.

The payments business showed mixed results. While the gross merchandise value (GMV) processed grew on a year-over-year basis, revenue growth remained flat. Management attributed this to a shift in the transaction mix toward payment types that generate lower revenue, which subsequently impacted the company’s take rate despite reducing gateway costs. Looking ahead, the firm plans to integrate artificial intelligence into lending, risk management, and customer service to further enhance operational efficiency.
