In a modest office in Mumbai, Nykaa’s finance chief signed the final figures for the September quarter, confirming a net profit of ₹101.2 crore – more than three times the amount recorded a year earlier.
The beauty and fashion e‑commerce platform reported a 206.8% jump in consolidated net profit for Q2 FY27, while operating revenue grew 28.1% to ₹3,006 crore, up from ₹2,346 crore in the same period last year. Sequentially, profit rose 26.9% and revenue increased 8.1% from the previous quarter.
Strong performance in Nykaa’s beauty segment helped drive the results. Revenue in the segment rose 26.6% YoY to ₹2,699.7 crore and profit before exceptional items climbed to ₹180.2 crore from ₹105.4 crore a year earlier. The fashion arm also showed improvement, with revenue up 42.9% YoY to ₹287.2 crore and its loss before exceptional items narrowing to ₹7.7 crore from ₹21.4 crore.
At the consolidated level, total expenses increased 24.8% YoY to ₹2,867.1 crore, a slower pace than revenue growth. Including other income of ₹9.5 crore, total income reached ₹3,015.6 crore. Profit before tax rose to ₹148.5 crore from ₹55.4 crore in Q2 FY26.
In parallel with the earnings release, Nykaa’s board approved the acquisition of an 82% stake in Simply Nam Beauty for up to ₹33 crore in cash.
Why it matters: The sharp profit rise signals Nykaa’s growing dominance in India’s online beauty market and suggests a turning point for its fashion business, which has been loss‑making. Investors and consumers in the region will watch how the company leverages the new acquisition to expand its product portfolio and sustain growth.
