Pinacoteca of San Francesco and Bologna Unveils 40 Masterpieces

From October 2 through early January, the Pinacoteca at San Francesco in Bologna is opening its doors to a newly curated showcase of about 40 paintings. Curators have dusted off works that haven’t been on public view for years, giving visitors a fresh look at the artistic riches hidden in the museum’s storerooms.

The exhibition features a stellar lineup, ranging from the dynamic brushwork of the Carracci brothers to the luminous elegance of Guido Reni and the vibrant compositions of Barocci. Art lovers can wander through rooms where each canvas tells a story of Italy’s Baroque brilliance, while the museum’s staff hopes the display will spark renewed interest in these often‑overlooked gems.
