Rome Plans Major Pedestrian Changes for Campidoglio and Circo Massimo

Rome is making some big changes to its city center starting this January to make the streets more walkable and friendly for everyone.

  • Starting in January, cars will be banned from the climb up to the Campidoglio.
  • The city is also planning to remove the wall that currently separates the Circo Massimo from Via dei Cerchi.
  • These updates aim to improve traffic flow and open up more space for pedestrians to explore these historic areas.

It is a significant step toward making the heart of the city more accessible and enjoyable for both locals and tourists alike.
