Tennis fans are in for a treat in Tokyo this Monday as two Spanish stars, Carlos Alcaraz and Jaume Munar, face off in the semifinals. Alcaraz punched his ticket after a tough battle against Denis Shapovalov, who struggled with a physical issue early in the second set. Meanwhile, Munar secured a solid, straightforward win against Kyrian Jacquet, proving he is back in top form.
This matchup is a big deal for both players. For Munar, reaching this stage means he will climb at least fifteen spots in the rankings, putting him back into the top 50. Alcaraz is aiming to defend his Japan title, marking his fifth semifinal appearance this year. While Alcaraz leads their head-to-head record 3-1, this clash promises to be an exciting test for both competitors.
