Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid, visited the ECPC Conciles prestressed concrete factory in 10th of Ramadan City to review production capabilities and operations.
What happened
Minister Farid toured the facility alongside Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem and French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier. The delegation inspected production lines for concrete pipes and segments used in metro and infrastructure projects. Company officials briefed the ministers on manufacturing processes and laboratory testing procedures.
Why it matters
The government aims to maximize existing industrial capacity to boost local manufacturing and job creation. Farid stated that the state is committed to addressing investor challenges and streamlining export procedures. ECPC, an Egyptian-French venture, currently employs 816 workers and maintains a 98% local component rate in its production.
Background
Established in 1978, ECPC operates a 200,000-square-meter facility with an annual capacity exceeding 300,000 tonnes. The company has contributed to major national infrastructure projects, including the New Administrative Capital and the Greater Cairo Metro. It represents a long-standing partnership between Egyptian industrial capacity and European engineering expertise.
