Investment Banking in Spain Hits a Major Revenue Milestone

A banner year for investment banking

Despite global uncertainty, economic instability, and high inflation, Spain’s investment banking sector is having an incredible year. Banks are on track to nearly match their record-breaking 2021 performance.

  1. Between January and September, the sector saw a 33% revenue jump, reaching €1.07 billion.
  2. Santander leads the pack with €126.8 million in fees, followed by JP Morgan at €90.8 million and Citi at €78 million.
  3. Together, these top three giants have seen their fee income soar by 44%.
  4. The industry is now closing in on the historic €1.4 billion revenue record set during the post-pandemic boom.

It is truly impressive to see these financial institutions thrive despite such challenging global conditions.
