The cycling world recently gathered in the austere, stone-filled streets of Ávila to bid a final farewell to Ángel Arroyo, a rider whose personality was as rich and complex as the sport he loved.
- Arroyo was a familiar face around town, famously preferring his bike over a car whenever the weather allowed.
- His close friend and former cyclist, Tasio Greciano, stood by his side throughout his difficult final year, offering unwavering support.
- The service was a somber, beautiful moment, marked by the sounds of Bach filling the church as friends and fellow riders paid their respects.
It was a quiet, poignant tribute to a man who lived with a unique spirit that touched so many lives.
