EU-Mercosur Trade Deal Could Halve Hybrid Car Tariffs

European hybrid car exports to the Mercosur bloc might soon see a major boost. Maroš Šefčovič, the European Commission Executive Vice-President, recently highlighted that under a new trade agreement, tariffs on these hybrid vehicles could be cut in half. This change is part of a broader push to make European goods more competitive in South American markets.

The impact goes beyond just the automotive sector, too. The deal includes lower duties on various other European products, which is expected to save companies at least 225 million euros. It is a significant step toward smoother trade relations and better opportunities for European businesses looking to expand their reach across the Atlantic.
