Egyptian Foreign Minister Holds Calls on De‑Escalation with Pakistan, Oman and Somalia

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty spoke with his counterparts from Pakistan, Oman and Somalia on Sunday to discuss regional military tensions and diplomatic initiatives. In a call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the two officials reviewed proposals to contain escalation and urged the United States and Iran to resume dialogue aimed at reducing the crisis. Abdelatty said Egypt backs the regional quadrilateral mechanism and rejects any threats to Gulf states or the use of strategic straits as pressure tools.
