Egypt’s President Warns Against Social Media Manipulation

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi declared on Monday that maintaining state stability is a priority, warning against coordinated efforts to influence the public via social media. Speaking at the Egypt Forum 2026 in the New Administrative Capital, Sisi stated that while differing viewpoints are permitted, the preservation of the state remains an uncrossable line.

Sisi addressed the instability between 2011 and 2013, noting that current stability required significant sacrifices from the military, police, and civilians. He urged Egyptian families to monitor their children’s digital consumption, citing ongoing efforts to mobilize populations against their own countries. Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shenawy said the forum aims to provide accurate government data and encourages citizens to engage with the administration’s past decisions and future plans.
