Egypt’s exports of chemicals and fertilizers to India increased by 325% during the first eight months of 2026, reaching $627 million compared to $147 million during the same period last year. According to the Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council, this growth makes India the third-largest export market for these Egyptian goods, trailing only Türkiye and Italy.
Fertilizers and pesticides accounted for $552 million of the total export value, representing approximately 88% of shipments. Khaled Abu El-Makarem, chairperson of the council, stated that the figures reflect rising demand for industrial inputs and raw materials in India. The council is now coordinating with the Egyptian-Indian Business Council to foster long-term industrial partnerships and diversify product offerings beyond current commodity-focused trade.
