Eni Launches Second Phase of Meleiha Gas Project in Egypt

Italian energy firm Eni has commenced operations for the second phase of its Meleiha gas project in Egypt’s Western Desert. The expansion, managed through the Agiba Petroleum Company joint venture with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, aims to bolster domestic gas supplies.

  1. Eni completed the construction of a new gas processing hub designed to handle 100 million standard cubic feet of gas daily.
  2. The project infrastructure includes new development wells, production gathering networks, and a dedicated export pipeline.
  3. These facilities integrate with existing energy systems to accelerate resource monetization and operational efficiency.
  4. The expansion supports Eni’s role as Egypt’s largest energy producer, maintaining a commitment to national energy security.

This initiative continues Eni’s long-standing operations in Egypt that began in 1954. #Egypt #Energy #Eni #NaturalGas @Eni @EGPC
