Bologna’s MAMbo Opens Archive Exhibition by Dafne Boggeri

The Museum of Modern Art of Bologna (MAMbo) has launched a new exhibition featuring the work of artist Dafne Boggeri. Titled “Fuori Registro,” the project serves as an archive-based installation available to the public with free admission.

October 22, 2024

The museum held the official opening ceremony for “Fuori Registro” at 6:00 p.m. The event introduced Boggeri’s creative archival approach to attendees, marking the beginning of the exhibition’s run at the institution.

January 10, 2027

The exhibition is scheduled to remain open to visitors until this date. The museum has confirmed that access to the gallery space will continue to be free of charge throughout the duration of the display.

Exhibition Status

The MAMbo exhibition currently displays archival materials curated by Dafne Boggeri. Visitors can access the collection in Bologna without an entrance fee until the exhibition concludes in early 2027.

Why it matters: This exhibition highlights the growing trend of institutionalizing ephemeral artistic archives within public museums. By providing free access over a multi-year period, MAMbo allows for sustained public engagement with contemporary artistic research and documentation practices, ensuring that such specialized collections remain accessible beyond short-term display windows.
