Egypt Reviews Implementation Plans for Kemet Data Centre

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hindy, met with representatives from Intro Holding Group to discuss the development of the Kemet Data Centre. The facility is planned for the Integrated Sokhna Industrial Zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

Project Specifications and Investment

Intro Holding Group aims to secure Tier III classification for the facility, which is designed to provide cloud solutions, Internet of Things services, and digital transformation support. The project is planned to reach a total capacity of 80 megawatts. Initial phase investments are valued at $270 million.

Strategic Goals

Minister Hindy stated that the ministry is focused on creating an investment environment that encourages private sector participation in the data centre industry. Officials discussed engineering designs and supply contracts during the meeting. The ministry aims to position Egypt as a regional hub for data hosting and processing. The project timeline and service launch schedule were also reviewed by ministry officials and company representatives.
