GSMA Urges EU to Reform Spectrum Licensing to Boost Digital Infrastructure

The GSMA, the global trade association for mobile operators, has formally requested that the European Union reform its radio spectrum management framework. The organization is calling for the introduction of indefinite license durations and automatic renewal mechanisms for mobile operators across member states.

According to the industry group, these regulatory changes would unlock up to 30 billion euros in capital over the next decade. The GSMA states that this funding is necessary to accelerate the modernization and deployment of digital infrastructure throughout Europe. The proposal aims to provide operators with greater regulatory certainty, facilitating long-term investment in connectivity networks. #Telecommunications #EU #GSMA #DigitalInfrastructure #TechPolicy
