Apple Posts Record Revenue in India as Global Earnings Climb

Apple recorded its highest-ever revenue in India during the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, marking a significant milestone for the technology giant in one of the world’s largest consumer markets. The company’s performance in the country was bolstered by record numbers of iPhone upgraders and strong sales of Mac computers, particularly the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro models.

Apple Chief Executive Officer John Ternus stated that the company achieved September quarter revenue records across both developed and emerging markets, with India standing out as an all-time record. During the same period, Apple introduced its digital payment service, Apple Pay, to India through a partnership with Axis Bank.

Global Financial Performance

Globally, Apple reported total quarterly revenue of $114.48 billion, an 11.72% increase compared to the same period in 2025. For the full fiscal year of 2026, the company generated $478.83 billion in revenue, a 15.06% year-over-year rise. Net profit for the full year reached $132.18 billion, reflecting an 18% increase.

Revenue streams were divided into products, which accounted for $82.90 billion, and services, which brought in $31.57 billion. The iPhone remained the primary revenue driver, contributing $57.58 billion. This segment saw 17.46% growth, attributed to demand for the iPhone 18 Pro and the foldable iPhone Duo. Services also hit an all-time record, supported by cloud, video, and payment revenues, with paid subscriptions exceeding 1.5 billion.

Operational Costs and Future Investments

While revenue grew, operating expenses also increased. Apple reported total operating expenses of $19.19 billion, a 20.58% rise from the previous year. Research and development accounted for the majority of these costs, totaling $11.73 billion. This figure represents a 32.30% increase as the company scales investments in generative artificial intelligence, including its Siri AI platform and custom silicon development.
